Empisal KH91 knitting machine

Empisal KH91, sometimes also called Empisal Computamatic KH-91, was manufactured in Japan in the very early 1970s.

It is a standard-gauge (4.5 mm distance between the needles) machine with 200 needles. It can perform automatic needle selection with its patterning center, that contains eight pushbuttons, reverse knob

It features eight push buttons and a patterning center, similar to the Brother pushbutton machines. Empisal KH91 has slightly advanced features than similar 8-pushbutton machines (Brother KH571, KH580, KH581, KH583, and KH585): an additional N/MC lever on the right-hand side of the needlebed. But other machines, Brother KH587, KH585, KH601, KH705 and KH710 have it too.

Despite having a name “Empisal” bedore the model number, the features on the carriage are closer to the Brother machines: pushbutton for Tuck/Part instead of a sliding lever (like in Brother KH601, for example, and other Empisal models).

I side note: I am amazed how similar the case (color, style and texture) looks like one for Brother (Profile) KH551. Maybe Empisal KH91 was manufactured right after the Brother KH551 was released to the market?
