Studio mod. 280 is a standard-gauge knitting machines with 200 needles, 4.5 mm apart. The same machines are Silver Reed SK280, and Studio by White mod. 280.

Unlike many of its Studio/Silver Reed/Singer counterparts, Studio mod. 280 does NOT have a built-in leader and has a stand-alone tool box.

The machine was released relatively late (for the punchcard machines): in the 1988.

For comparison: Brother had been already releasing electronic ones for almost a decade. It just speaks to the popularity of Silver Reed/Studio/Singer punchcard machines that the company produced them so late.

But this is also a reason why many of the 210 and 280 models look so much newer and are in better shapes. But other than that Studio mod. 280 has all other accessories, typical for Silver Reed/Studio/Singer punchcard knitting machines.

Studio mod. 280 is a slightly updated version of its earlier counterpart, Singer MemoMatic 210 (even the manual says it): unlike Singer MemoMatic 210, Studio mod. 280 has a hard lid for its case as well as point and magic cams, along with some other minor accessories.

Studio mod. 280 is compatible with the wide variety of ribbers and other add-on accessories:

– SRP20, SRO50, SRP60 and SRP60N ribbers-

– KR6, KR7, KR10 and KR11 knit radars

– LC2 and LC260/360 lace carriages

–  AG20 intarsia carriage

– YC2, YC3, YC5 and YC6 color changers

– AW1 weaving arm (sinker plate)

– RT1 transfer carriage

– SC3 linking carriage
