Silver SK-330 knitting machine

Silver SK-330 knitting machine very likely (due to several advanced features, discussed below) appeared on the market at the very beginning of the 1980s.

Silver SK330 is a standard-gauge knitting machine with 200 needles, 4.5 mm apart, and punchcard reading and patterning capabilities. It has a built-in knit leader and other “more modern” features, similar to its earlier counterpart, Silver SK328. However, the built-in toolbox already has a unified (not split into two like earlier models) lid for the built-in tool box as well as a small tool holder at the right-hand side of the plastic cover of the needlebed. These two features make Silver SK330 a novelty in comparison to Silver its earlier models.

A schematic on the lid of the toolbox includes an explanation of different parts of the machine (including the knit leader and the carriage), which is a handy reference tool to have close by.

Silver SK330 was probably released to the Japanese markets only judging by all the Japanese writing on the carriage and the cardboard package.

Silver SK330 is very similar to its Studio mod. 360 and Singer MemoMatic 360K counterparts. Thus, read detailed articles on those machines with all their pros and cons.

Here is an up-close view of an improved knit-leader sheet reader.

I like how the buttons on the punchcard reading mechanism are large and color-marked.
