Knit Radar KR7

Knit radar KR7 is called interchangeably a Knit Contour KR7.

It is compatible and attaches to a variety of Singer/Silver Reed/Studio/Riccar/Empisal knitting machines, standard, bulky and fine.

I had a chance to briefly work with one as I was preparing it for a customer (see a video and read a blog post).

It is nice and compact (unlike Brother knit leaders KL111, KL113 and KL116); thus, easy to store, transport/ship and store. I like its modern look (unlike a more vintage look with an open roll as Knit Radar KR6 has).

The standard setup comes with a pattern paper set, and 15 stitch scales (H1 to H15). Sometimes fine-gauge scales are included as well.

There are several vesion of Knit radar (Countour) KR-7 on the used market.

  • Silver Reed KR7 for Japanese customers
  • Empisal KnitMaster KR7 knit radar

Other knit radars manufactured by Silver Reed corporation and compatible with Silver, Silver Reed, Studio, Singer, Riccar, Empisal, Elna, etc. knitting machines are Knit Radar (Countour) KR-3, KR-5, KR-6, 10 and KR-11.
