Silver Reed or Silver Knit Radar KR6 is compatible with a huge variety of knitting machines (that already do not have a built-in knit leader) manufactured under the brand names Singer/Silver/Silver Reed/Studio/Empisal/Riccar.

It attaches to the case of the knitting machines and sits on the side (like shown for another knit leader on the machine tested in my shop).

It has a vintage look with an open roll (unlike its younger sibling, Knit Radar KR7). However, similarly to KR7, it is very compact, unlike their Brother counterparts Knit Leaders KL111, KL112, KL113 and KL116.

If your knit radar has yellow color like the ones shown below, it is very likely due to the damage by the sun light. I’ve seen a variety of yellowing in the knit radars and machines equally for the same models.
