Studio SR-302 ribbing attachment

Studio SR302 ribber is a rare attachment to find as it was released to the market in the mid 1960s. Studio SR302 ribber model is somewhat similar to the SR301. It is also visually identical to the ribber for the Singer 313-315 knitting machines I already wrote about. I also see some evidence that the ribber below can also be a Studio SR303 ribber. Since there is not model name on the carriage or the needlebed, the exact model of this ribber remains a mystery. Stay tuned as I am scouting for more information on this ribber and its exact model number.

However, one is clear: it is a standard-gauge attachment to fit Silver/Singer/Silver Reed/Studio knitting machines with model numbers 302, 303, 305 and 313-315.

So, Studio SR302 ribber is not as versatile as its later counterparts, SRP50 and SRP60, and will only fit a specific vintage knitting machines: turn knob SK302 models, potentially SK303 models but also SK313 and maybe even SK315 machines. The carriages of the machine and the ribber move consequently: knit stitches form first and them purl stitches (as shown in a video demo I made for a similar Brother KR580 ribbing attachment).

If you are looking for a manual for this ribber, manual for the similar Knitmaster SR302 ribber is available online for free.

Similarity between SR302 ribber and SR301 and SR303 ribbers as well as similarity between all Studio/Silver/Riccar turn knob knitting machines makes me to suggest that the ribbers are interchangible.

The carriage has a vintage knob-like handle, which is probably removable (for easier storage, thus, it is often lost). The weights are not round but are more vintage-y: somewhat squished.

Stay tuned as I research more info on the Studio SR302 ribber.
