Silver Reed SK-670 fine-gauge knitting machine

Silver Reed SK670 is a fine (3.6 mm) gauge knitting machine.

It is a vintage machine, made in Japan.

It can accept punchcards to create patterned knitted fabrics.

It is of a newer design since the punchcard reading mechanism has two levers, one of which is to extend the pattern (vertically) by two.

The machine has 250 needles and a standard set of accessories, including those for single motif.

This model was probably made for the Japanese markets only judging by all text (on the carriage) being in Japanese.

Besides the look and finer needles, this machine is identical to the Singer MemoMatic 210 (also manufactured by Silver Reed but for different markets). Thus, read the corresponding article.

Another fine-gauge knitting machine with punchcard reading capabilities manufactured by Silver Reed is the Silver Reed SK370 (looks the same in terms of color but has a built-in knit leader).

Fine-gauge knitting machines are rare. Other fine-gauge knitting machines are Brother KH110, KH111, and KH120 (with the patterning mechanisms based on push-buttons); Studio F270 and F370 (both with punchcards) and as well as Silver Reed SK270 (punchcards) and SK830 (electronic).
