Silver SK-102 knitting machine

Silver SK102 knitting machine was manufactured and introduced to the market in the early 1960s.

It is a standard-gauge knitting machine with 200 needles and only basic/manual stitch manipulation and needle selection capabilities.

The machine’s color is a pretty combination of pink and white.

The carriage handle folds conveniently for storage. The carriage is very simple and can probably knit only stockinet stitches.

This model stands aside from other Silver knitting machines because it is equipped with a needle selection – a separate carriage.

I am still looking for the manual for this model, but my understanding based on the needle selectors for other similar models, the numbers on the needle selector dial represent the sequence in which the knitters want to select needles.

For example, if you want to bring forward to the C position every 8th needle, you place the dial on number 8 and change the lever to C. Basically, it is acting as a vintage needle bug.

It was sometimes also branded as Studio SK-102 for markets in other parts of the world.

Both Studio and/or Silver Sk102 models can be accessorized with a matching ribber – SR102.

Other similar knitting machines are Silver SK101, Silver SK103, Silver SK105, Silver SK106, Studio mod. 810, and Studio SK105 as well as Singer 200-E.
