Brother KH891 knitting machine

Brother KH891 knitting machine has a built-in knit leader. It is very similar to its counterpart, KH881 (except for the color and the presence of the garter carriage rails). The presence of the garter carriage rails makes this machine superior to KH881.

Brother KH891 has 200 needles, which are 4.5 mm apart, which makes this machine a standard gauge.

It is also known under the names KnitKing AUTO KK91 and Palie A (For Japanese markets).

I have not owned this model yet but based on the picture and information I collected so far:

  • Built-in knit leader makes it very similar to KH881
  • Except for the built-in knit leader, KH891 is similar to KH890 and KH892: both have built-in garter carriage rails. Read the posts for KH890 and KH892: as they have more very specific details.

Thus, KH891 is compatible with the same add-on accessories as KH890 (but not the KL113 and KL116 knit leaders: they are not needed). Compared to KH881, KH891 is compatible with more Garter carriages: KG88, KG88II, KG89, KG 89II, KG93 and KG95.

Similarly to a lot of other punchcard Brother machines, the end needle selection is adjusted by (de)activating the corresponding cams on the underside of the carriage.

Since this model is similar to KH881 and KH890, read the corresponding articles. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of this wonderful machine below.
