Silver Reed SRJ70 ribber is an attachment to standard-gauge (4.5 mm) knitting machines manufactured by Silver/Silver Reed and is also branded under the Singer and Studio names.

It has 200 needles in the needle bed, 4.5 mm apart from each other.

The ribber comes with a standard set of accessories, which includes clamps, barrel weights, P-carriage, connecting arm, swing handle, auxiliary pieces, cast-on combs, etc.

But the most distinct feature of the SRJ70 ribber is its bird’s eye jacquard carriage, which is typically NOT included with other Silver Reed/Studio/Singer ribbers, like SRP60, SRP 60N, SRP50, SRP20, etc. If sold as a stand-alone carriage, it is called RJ1 carriage. This carriage, however, is included, as a standard setup of the SRJ70 ribber.

This carriage assists knitters in creating double-jacquard fabric by forming slip-stitches on every other needle. The resulting fabric looks the same just the reversed colors on the pattern. Basically, it is a fair-isle but without the floats.

Silver Reed SRJ70 ribbing attachment can be fitted onto the Silver Reed/Singer/Studio knitting machines with model numbers 210 (mod.210/Sk210, mod. 280/SK280, SK500, SK580, mod.700/SK700, SK740 and SK840.

One article states that SRJ70 rubber does not have all the ribbing features of SRP60N ribbing attachment but I am yet to figure it out (if you know what the difference is, let me know).
