Silver Reed SK-370 knitting machine

Silver Reed SK370 knitting machine is a fine-gauge (3.6 mm between the needles) machine released to the market at the beginning of 1980s. It is capable of automatic patterning using a punchcard reading mechanism and needle selection. It also has a built-in knit leader.

Fine gauge machines are hard to find because not many of them were manufactured. They are highly desired but definitely for more experienced knitters. I have a couple of fine-gauge machines in my possession but have not worked with them yet. I am so looking forward to updating this article soon on the pros and cons. And in the meantime, enjoy the pictures of this wonderful unicorn of knitting machines.

The sinker plate has only plastic wheels – not brush-like.

The carriage handle folds.

It comes with a standard set of accessories that fit inside a built-in storage box.
