Silver Reed SK-700 knitting machine

This gorgeous red knitting machine is a 200-needle standard-gauge knitting machine, manufactured in the mid-1980s. It accepts/reads punchcards to create patterns in the knitted fabric. The machine’s carriage has built-in intarsia options. It also has a built-in knit leader. Sometimes it is called Kantan SK700.

This machine is identical (with the exception of the color and all Japanese writing on the carriage and the knit leader) to the Singer MemoMatic 700, on which I had a chance to knit and learn about its pros and cons.
