Silver Reed RT-1 transfer carriage

Like other transfer carriages, Silver Reed RT1 moves stitches from the ribber (SRP50, for example) to the main needlebed.

RT-1 transfer carriages work with a wide range of punchcard and electronic Silver Reed (and other machines under this brand umbrella: Singer, Empisal Knitmaster, Studio, Riccar, Silver), such as Singer MemoMatic 210, Studio 260K, Silver Reed SK280, SK321, SK322, SK323, SK324, SK326, SK327, SK328, SK329, Studio mod. 360, mod. 700, SK740, electronic SK560, SK840, just to name a few.

RT-1 transfer carriage looks different from transfer carriages for Brother and Toyota knitting machines. Also, it operates differently: instead of pushing the carriage along the ribber/machine assembly, one needs to crank the handle for the carriage to move. The carriage is placed onto the ribber to move it from left to right or onto the machine itself to move it from right to left. I guess this depends whether the main carriages ended up on the left or right sides.

Usage of RT1 carriage requires special cams for electronic and punchcard machines. Refer to the manual for details.
