Brother KH811 is a very unique knitting machine as it (to the best of my knowledge) is the only machine made by Brother (and maybe even the only one in the whole knitting-machine world) that combines punchcard and pushbutton needle selection and pattering mechanisms.

It is a standard-gauge knitting machine with 200 needles. It was very likely made for Japanese markets only as it has a lot of Japanese writing on the carriage and the machine itself.

I tried to find a manual and any additional information on how exactly the pushbutton and punch card needle selection tandem works. So it seems that the pushbuttons are activated by pressing them and then setting #3 on the change knob. The punch card needle selection is activated by inserting the punch card and putting the change knob in position #2.

Stay tuned for more info (I have two of these mystery machines in my collection) while enjoying the pictures of this machine posted below.
