Brother KH311 knitting machine

According to some of the sources, Brother KH311 appeared on the market in 1959. It is a standard-gauge knitting machine with 200 needles and its design is very similar to all following (later models) knitting machines. Thus, it is very likely the first prototype of all modern knitting machines made by Brother.

It features a detachable (from the carriage) sinker plate, a narrower needle bed, and a yarn tension unit with wires. Its unfoldable end caps and a round clip-on row counter are still the remnants from the more vintage models.

I did not have a chance to see this machine in real life. While I search for one for my collection, I hope you’ll enjoy the pictures below.
