Silver Reed LK310 knitting machine (“LK” very likely stands for “light knitter”) is a mid-gauge machine with 140 needles. It features plastic bed and a simple carriage with only couple of pairs of levers.

It works and looks very similar to a famous Silver Reed LK150 (a very popular, still-made, knitting machine). However, LK150 has 150 needles while LK310 has only 140.

Additionally, Silver Reed LK310 has a simpler tension mast, which is inserted into the carriage; while LK100 and LK150 have a full mast positioned on the needle bed.

It is possible that Silver Reed LK310 (with fewer needles than 6.5 mm gauge LK150 and more needles than 9 mm LK100) has a 7 or 8 mm gauge (which is not as typical for modern plastic flat-bed knitting machines). However, it is hard to find information as this machine was very likely released to the Japanese markets only.
