I am a proud owner of Brother KG95, so come back often as I am discovering new features and kinks. Also, check out my post about garter carriages in general: it has a lot of useful advises including on troubleshooting.

Brother Garter Carriage, G-Carriage, Omni Carriage or Chariot-G with the model KG-95 is the latest Garter carriage model released by Brother to support almost all (with the exception of Brother KH910) electronic Brother and Knitking knitting machines and some punchcard machines as well. Brother KG-95 is identical to KG-93 but the manual of KG95 gives more instructions for electronic knitting machines.

If your machine has built-in garter carriage rails, it is very likely that this garter carriage will work on it. Not all of those machines are shown below: For example, I’ve seen KH860 with built-in garter rails, even though it is not an automatic option for that mode.

Notice that the manual shows a power supply without a cord branching to a machine (like the power supply for the Brother KG93), similarly to the power supply for the Brother KG88, KG89 and Brother KG88II, KG89II carriages).

Keep in mind that even for the Brother KG95 garter carriage, the power supply says AG-89. There are also power supplies (for example if you buy your garter carriage without it and then purchase the power supply separately) specific for Brother KH930/930e machines, which also can be used with Brother KG95 carriages.

Brother KG95 garter carriages were released for Western and just Japanese markets. Thus, some carriages have only Japanese writing.

PROS:
- HUGE advantage is working on its own once programmed and plugged in.
- knits and purl stitches in the same row.
- can be adapted to two-color/plating version
- can knit yarns a bit thicker than the standard-gauge machine can
- has automatic cast on and cast off option
- fits all electronic machines (except for KH910) and punchcard machines with model numbers KH864 and above
CONS:
- Garter carriages are very temperamental.
- a lot of maintenance is required: cleaning after each use, oiling, correct yarn selection, etc.
- can only be used on standard-gauge machines
- does not fit earlier models of punchcard knitting machines
